His speech at the convention made me wonder - I thought it was very good. By all accounts he's been doing a pretty good job in California. He also seems to be positioning himself as a very moderate Republican. He's been pushing to get the laws changed so that foreign-born people can be President. Is he trying to get into a position to run in the next election?

For some reason I really like the guy as a leader. My only concern is how he'd deal with the military and foreign affairs since he seemingly doesn't have much experience in those areas and they're HUGELY important. But then again, that's what he has all of his advisors for...

Considering most decisions are based on his advisor's opinions, sure why not. He's likeable, he's well known, his wife is a Kennedy, etc. I don't know if he'd be able to amend the law about the foreign born being President though - that'd be hard to do.

McCain looks like he's prime for 08 though.

You are going to have at least one person telling you to post this in P&N but I would like to go ahead and say that I would not vote for anyperson not born on American Soil. Call it Racism/paranoia/oldschool/whatever...

I thought his speech was great and I think that he's doing good things for California. But I don't want him to be the president.

There is no way, and very little real talk about it, that the constitution will be changed to allow a foreign born person to run as president. Just won't happen.

Although I think he might actually do a good job as President, the US would be the laughing stock of the world. Of course we would be the only country in history to have an actor/bodybuilder as Pres.

Seems ridiculous, doesn't it?

Arnold is not elegible for President. He's a naturalized citizen.

Aside from that, I think he'd do a pretty good job.

Any sources on this? I haven't heard anything about it. McCain is someone I could really get behind. I REALLY wanted him instead of Bush.

McCain is getting old though - id love to see him as a president (especially instead of W/Kerry), but i dont know if he'll be up to it in 4 years. Arnold can't run for president per the requirements in the consitution

Arnold's speach at the convention sealed it for me -- he is a complet idiot who got elected because of his celebrity status.

besides, he's not eligible to run for President/VP, as he wasn't born in the United States.

There is a reason for that. What if situation calls for the president to autorize a strike against the country of his birth. Would he be able to do that?

I like McCain, but he has his RINO moments.

W ain't perfect, but I really liked what he said about tax reform, health care, and national security.

I'm seeing a Rudy run in 2008 .. maybe even a Rudy senate run in 2006. He'd clean Hillary's clock. Maybe Rudy/Conde Rice in 2k8? I wouldn't mind seeing Conde in the White House.

The person I'd like to see run for President is Zell Miller. He'd whip W in an election. I'd vote for him. Too bad he's retiring.

A few on the horizon ... Rick Santorum ... potential presidential candidate down the line. Lynn Swann ... He's going to be campaigning for Bush .. I heard him in an interfiew on Fox .. he definately has potential as a candidate for Congress.

But back to AHNULD!

His speech was great. He's honest, charismatic, has a great vision for this country, and seems to have great leadership qualities. I'd vote for him if he could run.

If he was elected, soon Taco Bell would become the only restaurant chain in the country.

We all know this and I mentioned it in my post. We're talking hypothetical here.

I think half the posters in this thread didn't even read your post, but just responded to your thread title. That's pretty pathetic IMO.

you'd really be willing to support that for president? a person whose solution is "suck it up"?

Wow.

I'll refrain from saying anything more b/c this isn't P&N and so forth, but I just wanted to highlight that part of the post. :p

I could care less that he was not born here. He is an American citizen and I'd rather have his kind and other hard workers here then the POS we have milking the govt teet in trailer parks and govt housing across America. Not to mention those unemployed ftards in NY that were carrying around coffins the other day.

Why do you feel the need to repeat yourself? My comment was on his eligibility to be President - not on what you think of him. I don't care about your silly little reasons for not liking him.
