kudos to Arnold but that is a drop in the bucket of what is needed.

While Arnold is awesome, the federal government does an enormous amount for veterans. The issue here is not lack of federal support for vets but California’s NIMBY driven housing crisis.

Arnold's charisma alone is enough to keep homeless people warm for the night, but I agree with @fskimospy that this is a deep seeded structural issue that is not going to be solved with some tiny houses.

While writ large the Republican party is full of cons and assholes, there are some nuggets of populism in there that Dems would do well to pick up on, namely the amount of horseshit anyone has to go through to build ANYTHING in the US, let alone California.

Dems seem to think the solution to everything is just to throw more laws at it, and in this case the right idea is to incentivize and make it easier for the construction guys to do their jobs (then shore up the back end to make sure these houses actually make it into the hands of homeowners, not just venture capitalists).
