Army Considers allowing . . .

CaptnKirk

Lifer
To join the Service

Well, if we lower the standards enough - to where we allow minor criminal offenses to not be a disqualifier,
then maybe, just maybe, the total lack of common sense could work as well.

There seems to be a plethora for Conservative Ignorance waiting to be tapped for the Military to send to Iraq,
and P & N looks to be a goldmine of 'Bush Think' and ill-advised political alignment.

But would any of them actually have the balls to join, be able to be trained to perform in a defensive or offensive capacity,
or would they just keep tapping on the keyboards while the world is coming down around their ears?

Hey ! What's that 'Whistling Sound' - and what the hell does 'INCOMING' mean anyway?

Hi Kiddies, I'm Seargeant Death, and I'll be your personal baby-sitter for the next few years.

Do we really need to bog the Military down with problem children that will take up about 80% of their time?
Christ - 8 of these goofballs in a platoon of 60 becomes a very high maintenance problem for the command.
12% of the Platoon taking up 80% of the time is self destructive.

1. P&N isn't a blog.

2. Being in support of a war does not morally obligate you to go off and fight in it.

3. Your method of writing up thread titles is retarded. What are you doing, auditioning to write a Hardy Boys novel? What's with all the stupid "cliffhanger" titles?

Wow, troll much? Your insinuation that P&N is a "goldmine of 'Bush Think' and ill-advised political alignment" is anything but founded in fact. Other than a couple individuals, the general consensus here tends to be Bush and his cabal are criminals working against the good of our nation. The last thing the Army needs is more fuel for the meat grinder to perpetuate the war machine our nation is trying to become.

Make my day . . . punk.

You got a problem with that?

Does anyone have a grasp of the impact of sarcasm in todays world?

What in the hell has this country become?

I feel a serious need to engage in drug abuse - and maybe a felony or 2. I guess I could join a hate group - or profess homosexuality.

WTF - they don't want a 51yo like me, anyway. I belong on the 'Group W Bench'

🙂

Yeah, gee, what has this country become when troll threads and the trolls that create them aren't called out.

LOL, make your day? Don't make me steal your cane, old man. 😀

Wish I could. Cant even go as a contractor (I tried). Diabetes sucks. I wouldnt have a problem with it, due to the fact the percentage of hurt or killed is so small, I'd take my chances. And if killed? *shrug*

I'm only eighteen, I got a ruptured spleen
And I always carry a purse
I got eyes like a bat, and my feet are flat, and my asthma's getting worse
Yes, think of my career, my sweetheart dear, and my poor old invalid aunt
Besides, I ain't no fool, I'm a-goin' to school
And I'm working in a DEE-fense plant

if you were killed we would all be sad as would your family and friends. So don't sell yourself short.

Baffling description of P&N. I have heard it called many things. But a goldmine of bushthink is not one of them.

. . and if you know that I carry a cane, you would also know that it is tipped with a dart of deadly, unsurvivable CIA shellfish toxin,
and that would likewise imply that I am fairly proficient in the skills of it's use.

they should have a review of what should need waivers or not. one time marijuana use? you really need a waiver for that? But other drug use you should. we don't want all these drug addicts on the front lines.

yes review the system to see whats outdated and what needs to be improved but please don't lower the standards. its like every year i hear them lowering standards to make it easier to get in. its too much.

Geez, looks to me like they do need to relax some of those overly strict rules.

Just cuz you had a brush with the law at 14 doesn't mean that you'll be problem in the service.

The stuff they talk about wouldn't prevent you from being a CPA, lawyer or doctor, I don't see why it should prevent you from being in the military. And the guy's right, most members of Congress wouldn't be able to serve.

Too strict IMO.

The risk that is being taken is that there will be an influx of gang members into the Military,
and once they have been trained will be taking that knowledge and those skill back into the gettos or barrios
to shave with their hommies.

That makes thier gangs more competitive with other gangs, and gangs like the Police Gang, the Fireman Gang, the ATF Gang, the Etc. Gang.
We will be using our Armed Forces training - which we use to combat opposing national Armies, insurgents, enemy combatants
and training what is the fringe of the dregs of society to be our next internal domestic nightmare.

Do you really think that the Crips, the Bloods, Devils Boogymen, whatever, will have your interests in mind when they deploy these techniques
on you in a dark alley or on the side of the road in traffic.

Why do you suppose that they would have a criminal record at this early in their development if they didn't have those tendencies.

Don't enlist them - waterboard them.

I caught a 20/20 or something about that awhile back. Seems they already are doing it. It wasn't in alleys or tire change lane though, it was security video of a 7/11 type robbery iirc. They were breaking down what the guys in the video did and how it was a direct result of recent military training.

He wasn't brave enough to backup such claims with a poll. Cause he knows his own words are BS.

Yeah, but geez that's a piss poor way to weed out gang members. Crap, talk about throwing out the baby with the bath water.

Overall, about three in every 10 recruits must get a waiver, according to Pentagon statistics obtained by AP, and about two-thirds of those approved in recent years have been for criminal behavior.

Wow, so 1/5th need a waiver for criminal behaviour!

But, though it's not PC to say, the military is the last hope of a lot of people with no other, so it's not super surprising.

A poll would prove what exactly? People are honest on internet polls?
