Arkansas sure is an ugly state.

Just got done driving roughly 5000 miles across the U.S. and Arkansas has got to be one of the ugliest and least desireable states to live in.

Every state has its scenic areas and blights.

All depends on what you are looking for.

Clinton made it because the Dems were desperate and he was an astute pol.

Hehe, which part of Arkansas were you going through? I used to live in NW Arkansas, Springdale. It wasn't too bad, though the scenery is nothing spectacular.

Anything east of New Mexico and south of Virginia sucks, excluding Florida and Austin, TX.
You obviously haven't really traveled much. Michigan's upper peninsula, for example, is absurdly beautiful.

Since when is Michigan east of New Mexico and south of Virginia?

Hehe...whoops. I just read east of NM and started typing. 😱

Second try: Western NC. Beautiful. So there. 😛

I went through all the major cities and some smaller ones: Little Rock, Texarkana, Hot Springs, Hope, Forrest City, Russelville, Jonesboro. Nothing much in Arkansas except a lot of cotton crops from what I could tell.

I'm sleep-deprived dammit!! Give me a break! My wife is sick and my daughter's decided sleeping isn't in the cards these days. I haven't had a full night's sleep in weeks.

/cries in coffee

😛

I was up in Michigan also. Ann Arbor is really nice and reminds me of Austin on a much smaller scale. Detroit has really gone to hell in the 25 years since I last visited it.

No, Detroit has pretty much always sucked. 😛

I'd say Kansas is pretty boring. Never seen Arkansas though.

Kansas is definitely boring but not ugly like Arkansas. The sight of trailers combined with weeds growing all around was just too much to bear.
