The Gaffe Reels: Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer
September 02, 2010 11:56 PM
You may have caught the debate in the Arizona governor's race last night, which featured a moment that's sure to make you wince -- especially if you're a supporter of sitting Governor Jan Brewer. During her opening statement in the debate against state attorney general Terry Goddard and others, Brewer suddenly stopped speaking, looked down at her hands, and emitted a strangled giggle. And there were more awkward moments after the debate, when Brewer was asked to support her claims that murderous illegal immigrants are leaving headless bodies in the Arizona desert. Brewer again froze and, without answering, turned and walked away. So how bad was Brewer's botch-up? As a popular governor whose support for the state's tough anti-illegal immigrant law has won her great favor, does Brewer face new political vulnerability from the slip? Or should everyone be allowed a momentary brain freeze -- professional politicians included?

This is embarrassing even by Palin standards. But you know what that means: her popularity is going to skyrocket with tea baggers.

She's just so down to earth (and by down to earth, i mean crazy and retarded).

It looked horrible, but I doubt that anyone who is already in a lather over the AZ situation will take it any way other than journalistic attacks.

She is falling right in line with the whole "make a statement and then when asked to back it up with facts, no comment, run away quickly" crowd like Palin, Paul, Angle, etc..

If AZ is able to shoot down the Fed regarding SB1070, then the Dems can worry about her.

Otherwise, it is just entertainment for the Republicans to watch the Dems get their panties in a tizzy over someone that is not any threat to them.

Same as all the atention that the Dems focus on Palin. They are the ones drving the name recognition.

Pretty bad for someone who should be good at public speaking. But with that said, it's not that big of a deal. Policy counts more. I'm sure a lot of illegals people defend wouldn't do a good job in front of the camera either.

OP, if there was a hot woman that wanted to have sex with you but you found out she was a conservative, would you still do it?

She's a woman, they have faults, it's quite cute when they try to have positions of power though.

What a dumb bitch!

that might be a little too harsh, maybe she's got some tough issues at home to deal with and just caught her when she's got a lot on her mind. not that i support her politics but let's be civil here, she's just another human being. no need for name calling here and I wish her well, whatever is troubling her behind the scenes.

Good thing they aren't governors, right?

I already pointed out it's bad for someone who should be good at public speaking... But this is mainly a big deal for people that disagree with her policies. Policies > senior moments.

Further proof the bigots on the left have no interest in allowing women to have any power in this country.

I know right. I mean, Janet Napolitano was elected governor of Arizona and left to join the Obama administration. What misogynist pigs!

Actually it's bigotry against the mentally challenged. But for some reason, the ones that aspire to political office all seem to have an (R) next to their name.
