Woo hoo! I just passed both my Series 6 (Investment Company/Variable Contracts Limited Representative) and my Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law) exams. Upon approval by the appropriate governing bodies, I will be able to transact business as a Registered Representative.
Bonus: I only took 1.5 hours out of the total 4 hours they allot you for the exam. I also only needed about 20 hours of studying total instead of the "recommended" 40-60 hours of classroom pre-study and 20+ hours of post-class studying. 😀
Cliff's notes: I kick ass and I am smrt.
edit:
Registered Rep. means that I can transact in variable securities products such as annuities and life insurance, as well as open-end mutual funds. I can also provide financial advice as long as I don't charge a fee for that specifically. 🙂
Oh, and I'll be working for NEF to boot. 😉
Anyone needing training or CE for insurance/securities should get their stuff done here: Dearborn. By far the best program out there.
edit 2:
Humor on this board has gone the way of the dodo. The immodesty contained within this post was meant as cheeky humor in light of me passing two very difficult exams in one day. For goodness sakes, I'm not THAT much of a gloat.
edit 3:
Apparently I *am* smarter than the average bear. Just notified my agency manager about this and she said I'm "one in a million" for being able to pass both tests the first time around, much less being able to pass them on the same day. 😀
