ARGUMENT ESSAY PAPER TOPIC: Video game violence. Does it make you more prone or more violent? Or does it not?

Should I write about the fact that it can make your more violent? I am reading journals from psychologists and what not and I am having hard time finding articles or back up information in regards to violent video games not making you more violent or have some sort of agression.

Well.... Cigarettes absolutely shouldn't be grouped together with cannabis. They're far more dangerous...

It doesen't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

I'm not quite sure whether you're saying cigarettes should be grouped with cannabis as an illegal substance, or what. In any case, you can't really compare the two. Their only similarities are that you smoke them.

no, if you read my title it said an ARGUMENT essay. what my argument is? i dont really know. but im leaning towards, cigarettes should be classed in the illegal substrance group. thats what im saying. im arguing that cigarette smoking should be made illegal.

now listen, before you jump on me because you smoke and this and that. i honestly couldnt care, but im just doing this topic for english, thanks.

Argue why Marijuana should be legal. God knows there are plenty of sources out there if you need it.

Search for specific games - Doom and the Columbine Massacre and the backlash that started against video games because of that. You should be able to find some aspects to use in your paper. Look at how video game addiction is formed, and if people become violent because of becoming an addict or if it is the actual game. Are people being influenced by the people around them or it is a solely individualistic 'acting out'?

Look for articles on improving hand-eye coordination, firing neural receptors or whatever, or getting rid of passive agressive hostilities (in other words - relaxing the user) for the positive effects of playing video games. Oh, and look for articles on improving penis size - plenty of them out there.

Video games have never made me more violent towards another person to the point where I actually want to hurt em..

Sure, I've been mad because I've lost or something, but that's about it..

i guess i could do all this but my paper doesnt need to be that complex, yet.

just basically an opening with background info, thesis, three points, three refutes, conclusion.

im just having a hard time thinking up the three points.

im thinking:

1. it doesnt make you violent because __________. video games doesnt make you violent based on this study (cite here 1).

2. video game violence makes you just as violent as any other kid.............im rambling and dont know what to say.

3. im a lost cause actually.

I know video games help me relieve a lot of stress and get me pretty calm again. That, and would you rather hear me yell out, I'll kill you! or "i'll soo overrun your cannon defense with my dragoons.
