there are quite a few different demos of that keyboard from him.. id watch them all
I don't know about best pianist/keyboardist alive, but his knowledge and ability to play such a diverse international collection of music on the keyboard is probably unmatched (perhaps on any instrument.)
When I think of best ever tho, I'm going to gauge it based on musical construction, interpretation, and skillfulness playing. He certainly has the skillfulness and ability to 'reconstruct' but I don't know enough about him to guage his interpretation abilities as well as compositional abilities writing new music.
He doesn't play as much classical as he used to, since now he is on a (and has been for quite some time) synthesizer kick. His last few solo cd's, dream theater cd's, and his "night with jordan and john (petrucci) cd are pretty damn good, compositionally.
There are alot of musicians who might play music that I like better, I'm just saying, on a technical proficiency level, he's arguably the best.
Proficiency-wise, just watching the 16 demo's, he's a musical genius as far as I'm concerned. I also love what he played, particularly flamenco, but also the middle eastern and asian sounds. However he appears to be a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none?
It would be interesting to hear some of his 'best' music...compostions and/or collaborations.
