I have an opportunity to get FREE Elton John tickets for his show tonight which is about 1.25 hours away from where I live. The tickets are the radio station promo ones, which are given to all the reps, and are probably in the first ten rows on the floor. In other words, they are excellent seats. The best in the house. My father is all for me going to the show, but my mother is worried about me driving home 1.25 hours at night.

How can I convince her to that it will be okay? I will be driving with a friend, and both of us have had our licenses for over a year. We're both 17, almost 18. My friend is having no trouble being allowed to go. What can I tell her to convince her? How long is this show going to last? When will it be over?

I can't even imagine being 17, and not being allowed to drive an hour away. As previously stated, just do it.

I can't imagine being 17, and wanting to go see Elton John 😛
I wouldn't figure it would be over 2.5 hours at the most, probably less.

For just his set, or the opener, too?

My mum claims it's not the hour away, it's the 'after midnight driving'.

Promise her you'll drink some coffee before you leave

She claims it's not my driving but the other people on the road at night.

Ask her if she'd like you to live in a bubble and never leave the house...
