arghh - PS2 won't read disc

So the PS2 is having a heck of a time reading discs. any ideas? Take apart and clean?

Its one of the originals from the christmas release. Sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to get a game loaded.

Yeah a good cleaning sounds like what it needs. Or mabe a lazer adjustment.

Yeah, what crackrabbit said. You may also want to try standing it up on it's side. My brother's ps2 has the same problem, and that (sometimes) fixes it.

its weird...sometimes I can go into the menu and have it re-read the disc.

on to find sites on how to disassemble this thing.

Cleaning does wonders. My friend's PS2 could barely read any of his games because it was sitting near a corner where there was lots of dust. He took it apart and blasted all the dust away and it was fine.
