okay.. i started with NT4, and it said that I didn't have a hard drive "setup can not detect a mass storage device, make sure that the etc etc... " and the hard drive works fine and is hooked up, cause I'm running 98 off of it.. i got the second partition reserved for either of the NT's.. 4 or 2000 and I can't install either cause they both give me that message. I heard that NT4 won't recognize it cause it's ata 100 (diamond max hdd) but 2000 won't either (and I would have thought that it could). The other thing I heard is that you need to put it in an extended dos partition. That one doesn't make sense to me, cause I thought it had to be primary to be bootable.. ?? please help me.. I've been wrestling with this for a whole stupid week and it's killing me... <edit> the second partition that I have reserved for win2K or NT is ntfs, not fat32</edit>

yeah, like i said in another thread... you need to copy your controler card's drivers to a disc and insert that disk durring the install when it asks for additional scsi drivers. that should fix your problem. also, if memory serves, that prompt might only pop-up when you're doing a fresh install and not when you do an upgrade.

Hope that helps.

During the blue screen part of W2K's setup it will ask you to hit F6 if you want to install addition SCSI / Mass storage controller. Press F6 and insert the driver disk. Then setup should be able to recongnise your hdd.
