Im trying to fix the heat on my car.. it's getting cold out.

heat works, but its stuck on defrost mode.. the flaps are all vacuum controlled and i can't find the problem.

that is all.

lol, a friend bought an old 78 cutlass, 60 bucks. We cut almost EVERY vaccuum line that came from teh airbox. thing runs better than ever before.

Better to be stuck in defroster mode than no mode at all. Maybe just one of the lines worked its way loose. However, if it is disconnected, your car could be running a bit rough due to the lower level of vacuum.

Defroster mode should run the a/c compressor, which would suck for gas consumption.

yeah, the flaps are spring loaded so it defaults to defrost if something fails.

its turbocharged, so there should be infinite vacuum infront of the turbo.. no? I guess if it was too big of a leak it could cheat the airflow meter, and run a little rich
