hey ya'll
i decided to format my hard drive, to clean it out every so often and get rid of the junk. before i formated i was using XP pro. so i formated, put in the 6 startup disks and everything's fine untill the end. it gets done and then boom. blank screen, no blinky cursor, no keyboard recognition, mouse works (optical- you move it, it gets brighter). so i'm now using 98se. so i figured i'd install office so i can do some stuff and office xp won't load and so i'm stuck with office 97, oy. When the computer starts up it sometimes gives me a CMOS error too, and i press F1 to go through with it.

any help's appreciated i'll check what the cmos error in the beginning is.

edit: message on CMOS is "CMOS check sum error- defaults loaded"- the bios is reset afterwards

dual booting are u?,i have never used floppys that way.
boot from XP disk and do a repair install install / the second option of repair inst,if that dont work then a full reinstall will be needed.
