argh.. Trying to run S@H through Linksys cable router. Help!

Anyone know how I can set this thing up so I can run S@H on my 2 comps? I haven't tried on my other one but on my main rig I can't connect to the S@H server when I am trying to logon as an existing user (I started account at work) So all the comps I run it on at work are ok.. But I can't get it to work through my Linksys cable router.. does anyone know what I'd have to put in the proxy settings to make it work?

Thanks!!!

I believe that seti uses port 80 for their connections... You may want to double check that that's open for communications on the linksys.

As I understand it, there's a whole configuration routine that you go through with those routers...

Does the computer work for normal web surfing?

Also, are you on Team AnandTech? I don't recognize your name.

thats funny... i have the same router and mine works just fine without configing anything.

OK well I tried setting a port range from 80 to 80 cause it's just the one port I need of course. Still doesn't seem to work, it says the server may be down, etc. it tries to connect for like 15-20 seconds but that error comes up.. I know it shouldn't take too long before it connects... I dunno what to do here......

you don't have any proxy settings? i'm using seti driver to control the CLI and have no proxy selected

problem fixed, and i'd like to publically welcome yield to the TeAm!

beinvenidos a TeAm Anandtech!

Seems you've got it working but I'm not sure what the problem was before... I've got the Linksys 4 port router on my home cable setup. My router does DHCP to get on Roadrunner and all 4 inside boxes DHCP to the router. One box is the SetiQ server (version .75e?) and all 4 connect through it. I don't need to map any ports on the router or anything special.

If you run into any problems please let me know and I'll try and help.

Welcome to the team!

we were working through the settings on the router and it just started working without changing anything. kinda funny. maybe s@h's server was just having a hard time, i dunno.

Yup it seems to be working ok now! and my PIII is ripping thru the WU's so far!
I want to build some more rigs just to run S@H!!!
hehe 🙂

Thanks Assimilator1
It's kind of intimidating looking at all the rigs people have and how many blocks they can turn in ...
I thought I was gonna be big with like 8 comps running it. but most people have 8 GOOD comps running it alot... lol!
most of the ones I have are outdated systems.. but they work 🙂
