Got my new Tivo in yesterday (Philips HDR212), get it all hooked up and find out my stupid digital cable box is dead. Evidentally loosing power while plugged in and turned off is enough to wipe it's firmware. Apparently it's a known problem since I called the cable company, gave them the error code and they asked "Did you loose power today?". What the hell kind of crappy product design is that??
I soo wanted to play with my Tivo last night. Oh well, cable guy should be there after work tonight to replace it. They wouldn't swap out the unit at my apartment complex's office because they wanted to be sure it worked when they hooked it up.
Oh well, plenty of time to play with it tonight. Have to get the network card and an 80-120GB HD on order soon.
Finally I can stop missing Buffy, Angel, The Dead Zone, Jeremiah, The Simpsons and Futurama.
