Well here it goes, I have an old laptop (HP OmniBook 5700CTX) running Win2k Pro. It's a Pentium 166 with 128 mb of ram. It has some sort of Crystal WDM soundcard. According to the device manager there are no driver conflicts. In fact, it says that the correct driver is installed. The sound worked fine when Win98se was installed on this computer.

According to the device manager there is a resource conflict, it can't find enough resources to use the soundcard. I'm relatively new to assigning resources to devices. How could I go about this in a safe manner? Thanks guys.

brinstar117:

When you go into the Resources Tab under your Sound Card Properties in the Device Manager, are you able to edit any settings that have been pre-set by Win2k? Because when there are no conflicts, which is obviously not your case, everything is greyed out in the Resource Tab and nothing is editable.

Also, does it look like your sound card is experiencing an IRQ error or an I/O Request error?
