ok, this is annoying me...I have outlook xp, and I have a couple of contacts (currently building my list). So anyways, I want to be able to send a new message, type, for example, "dad" into the TO or CC field, and have my dad's email address come up.

I dont, however, want to change the display name for my dad's contact. I still want it listed as Firstname Lastname (or Lastname, Firstname. whatever), so messages he receives (along with anyone else) dont show my "nickname" for the contact.

I tried adding "dad' as a nickname in the contact, and made sure that outlook only searches my contacts when attempting to complete names...After all that, I type an email To: dad, but am told "dad" doesnt exist as a contact when I try sending it.

Any way around this? There's gotta be some setting I missed-this is too simple for no one to have caught it, the mistake must be on my end. help please.
