Argh! My stuff is all gone!

The movers came today and packed up their rather large truck full of mine and Skoorb's things to drive to Alabama. They were extremely efficient, more so than I thought they would be! They managed to get a 300lb leather couch up some very steep and narrow stairs! Anyhow, they cleared out the place, with me standing over of course, in under an hour. I was impressed.

Soon, I can join my things with my Skoorbie again! 😀

Huntsville, Alabama.

Our stuff is going from Nova Scotia, Canada all the way down there!
:Q

Besides the difference in location and weather, the cultural differences are amazing! 🙂

"There's always that . . . I don't know, it's just when you buy furniture you tell yourself 'That's it, that's the last sofa I'm gonna need. Whetever else happens I've got that sofa problem handled.' I had it all. I had a stereo that was very decent. A wardrobe that was getting very respectable. I was close to being complete."

"@#$%, man, now it's all gone."

"All gone."

"All gone. Do you know what a duvet is?"

Have fun in Alabama *shudder* 😉

It amazing how fast professional movers can do things. I was in on an office moving once, three trucks pulled up with about 15 guys and emptied the office in about 25 minutes, kind of scary when you think about it. You could run for some food and come back to an empty house. :-Q

Yeah I just did a move myself, granted no where near as far as yours. It is amazing how quick, efficient yet careful these guys can be.

I'm sure you'll like HSV, MrsSkoorb. I've been there quite a few times for business. Nice people, minimal redneck factor, no traffic problems, no (very little) snow. Also they have the very interesting South Memorial Parkway with that roller-coaster design!

Unrelated question...

Can Canadians simply move to the US and vise-versa without needing work permits/visas etc?

"It's a comforter."

"A blanket. Now why do guys like you and me know what a duvet is?"

What movie is that quoted from? I'm curious.

MrsSkoorb, awww that's wonderful news that you will be reunited with your hubby again. Skoorb has posted his wedding pics before and I must say you guys are an adorable looking couple! 🙂

No you need a visa of some sort. I'm on a TN1 because IT qualifies (for some silly reason) as jobs that the US needs immigrants for. Alternatively you can get an employer to pay a few K to sponsor you for an H1B.

Now thats a move...Nova Scotia to Huntsville...your in for some culture shock!! Funny thing is your gonna end up with that Southern Accent..its very addictive.
