I elbowed the blender right off the edge of the counter and broke it into a thousand pieces onto the kitchen tile (it was glass.) What's the best way to get up all the tiny shards/bits? Just run the vacuum over it?

pick up the large shards, use broom-dustpan to get the moderate-sized pieces, then vacuum the area.
