Argh.. isn't it frustrating when old computer parts don't work like they did?

I just threw together an Athlon 900mhz computer that I was gonna use for a Myth TV box and the damn thing beeps at me about half the time I power on. It worked just fine for my buddy last time he used the computer and he told me he never had a problem with it (I originally built it for him.. and he gave it back when he upgraded.)

Also, why is the fan screwed up on every old computer that I get? I swear, I have never had a fan screw up on me if I originally got it brand new.. But, every motherboard, video card, processor fan has a fan that clicks, spins slow, or just doesn't spin on every old part I get. ARGH. I hate blowing $9 for a fan for a $10 video card.

It's so damn annoying when old parts just don't work.
