I apparently have a splinter in my big toe that is completely invisible. It hurts like hell, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Its very defined to one location, and no cuts that can see using my 10x Magnifying Glass.

Any ideas? I can't put pressure on my toe at all.

It might be a nerve ending pushing through. I have one on the side of my right ring finger. About once every 3 months it hurts like a motherfscker, it feels sort of like a splinter since it hurts the worst if I brush it against something else.

I've had that too, except on my fingers. Usually always from some surface I was doing pushups on.

Hurts like hell... and I know it's in a general location, but with mine, it seems that a very tiny pinprick is in the area, and sometimes it looks like a tiny dark spec is under my skin. So not quite invisible, but the problem is, entry direction. Big splinters you can tell which way they entered, and can squeeze accordingly to get it out. These tiny/nearly invisible ones, you cannot tell which direction to push, and either push in one direction and discover that hurts even more, and then push in the opposite direction to see it still hurts like hell but seems to be hurting just slightly less, maybe even getting better.

I don't know what they are. They aren't typical wood splinters, at least not for me, as they come at a time I am not around wood or construction material. So weird.

Soak your foot in epsom salt/water for 20 minutes or so. Then drag the edge of a razor blade/scissors, knife, or something with a sharp edge over the surface of your toe in the area it hurts.

The water engorged skin should open up any holes, and the scraping will hopefully lift out any embedded objects.
