Ok i have been trying on and off for the past 3 weeks to get my RAID 0 array setup and i have come the closest today i got to read the full size of the array but i still cant get it to install win2k. i know your going to say "dude just hit f6 when it propmt you to" problem is is that it never does, i have even tried hitting f6 like mad until the install screen comes up but no luck at all. and now when i have my sound caqrd & NIC in when it boots up it wont get past "detecting drives" screen. Am i just like totally stupid or is mobo fubar'd?

I assume you mean upon Win2k installation?

What version of Win2k are you using? If its a cracked version, they may have taken that out.

Are you using a bootable Win2k CD or the 4 Win2k boot disks?

Is the Win2k folder just copied to another drive? It wont work unless you have a CD.

Well its a legit "backup" my friend burned his legit copy for me. im using the win2k cd its self the boot disks that i made dont work they just say "analyzing system hardware" then the screen goes black forever no the win2k folder isnt copied onto the drive

well. u cant use 2k without bootdisks i dont think...never worked for me, dunno bout legitimate burns though.

Ive got an idea. Put another hardrive in there. Install windows98 on it. Put in win2k cd. do upgrade, but do a clean install on your raid array partition.

tell me if that sounds like it would work

Win2k will boot from a CD rom drive and will install from there.
Using boot disks is a horrible waste of time.

In order for your RAID to be installed you do however have to have a 3.5 inch floppy with the win2000 drivers on it provided the RAID isn't covered in the normal install of course.

When asked for additional drivers have the floppy in then hit F6.
And let it do it's thing.
If the drivers aren't found on the disk, then the floppy has the wrong directory structure on it.
BTW RAID isn't what it's cracked up to be unless you are capturing large amounts of video or some other intensive disk function. Installing RAID 0 simply makes your possibility of hard drive failure twice as much, after all one drive fails the other is useless.

In normal circumstances you won't notice any difference at all.
