You know, its such a stupid way of copy protecting content. If I want to download the warez version of a game, 99% of the time there is a crack for it and I can get it if I want.

But nooooo, when I actually pay for a game (which is pretty often, since the only way great games will continue to come out is if people buy them) , I've got to keep a clonecd image on my hard drive for every game I buy because its inevitable that all the games I actually buy end up having a cd check come out and the no-cd patch wont work. And of course, I deleted the clonecd image of my Shadows of Undrentide disc, because I needed to make space for stuff I was actually using, and of course, it was either stolen or lost when I moved out of my old apartment, so now I can't play the game I PAID FOR because it needs the cd. Nevermind that its storing over 2 gigs worth of crap on my hard drive, it NEEDS that cd.

*bangs head on desk out of frustration*

Make backups of your stuff, kids.

Tried that certain site. The crack doesn't work. I just dug through a bunch of crap in my attic and still cant find the disc, so im trying to figure out a way to uninstall just the expansion pack, since I still have the play disc for original NWN. If that doesnt work i'll probbably just uninstall the whole f'n thing and download the warez version of the original, cause I still have my cd-key.

If you use your CD key, it doesn't matter where you get the image...just download it if you have to.

Yeah im still hunting for a clonecd image of SoU. The thing is, it has to be a clonecd image because otherwise it won't be a perfect copy of the original disc, and it will require the no-cd patch which isn't working.

I know someone who has a copy of the game but they moved to seattle so I'm kinda screwed at the moment.

If it comes down to it I'll just go buy the boxed set with all the expansions and sell my cd-keys to some warez kiddies on the cheap. I wouldn't mind having HotU anyhow.

Gamecopyworld.com. I've had good luck with them in the past specifically for this purpose. (Remember folks, please do not do anything illegal.)

Yeah CD checks and cd copy protection scheme's are bullsh|t. The warez guys ALWAYS break the copy protection and the distributed version of the cracked game isn't even going to have that stuff. So the only thing they're doing successfully, is fvcking over the people who actually buy the game.

I have dungeon keeper II, it requires the CD to be in to run and the CD has some copy protection I've been to lazy to try to break. It pisses me off because I usually just copy the game install CD right when I get the game, put the original away in a safe place and work off the copy. Its annoying when I can't even backup a game I bought, and then I have to put the CD in every time I want to play (which promotes more scratching/ruining of the disk, which I don't have a fvcking backup copy for! ARgh!)

I like that MPAA guy or whatever on what people should do if they want a backup copy of their DVD's. "They can just buy another copy." Fvcking asshole.
