ARGH! easy cd creator 4.03

i updated my easy cd creator (bundled with iomega 12x10x32x) to 4.03 and its having problems recognizing the drive!

ARGH! i know its there! it is hooked up and everything!

i updated the drivers from the adaptec/roxio whatever site and its still giving me this problem. i ran web checkup and it said "your software is currently up to date"

what to do? my parents want me to burn cd's for them but i have to leave in an hour to go home!

Go back and get the 4.03a patch . . . it adds more drives.

I have the Deluxe version and it sees my new Firewire CDRW just fine . . . and that's pretty new.

Does Windows recognize the drive? Can you read a CD in it?

You didn't state what the error message read.

Just a guess. Is Direct CD also running? If so, make sure it is not. Sometimes Direct CD interfers with EZ Creator recognizing a drive.

Sometimes a complete uninstall and reinstall of EZ is needed.

got the 4.03a patch earlier... didn't work.

the drive does read - i can stick cd's in there. it seems to be a running problem with this drive. GRR i guess we get what we paid for.

the error message is that there are no cd recorders installed and so on. it said to update the drivers - did that. i registered for web checkup and it said that my version was up to date.

Bummer! There is a common complaint, it seems, on this Iomega drive for the past couple of weeks on the General Hardware board.

That is not uncharacteristic for that brand.
