Argh course selection is a pain....

Well I'm going to be a junior next year and making course selections is really annoying. Right now I have gotten into US history AP, physics 2 honors, spanish 4 honors, English 11, Pre-calc. I have one other course to choose, at first I had planned to take Computer AP. However they decided they were basing who gets in by how good your math grades are. I have about a 88 average in regular geometry this year. That is nothing compared to a lot of the people who applied. The list ended up with about 80% of the people were in high math honors. Anyways, now I have to choose between 3 courses. My choices are Chinese 1, Foreign Policy, or Chemistry. I would like to take Chinese so when I go to china I might be able to converse with my grandma, however it requires a 2 year commitment. Foreign Policy I chose because I heard it is not a difficult class and it could help my GPA. If I were to choose chemistry, I would fufill my science requirements and wouldn't have to take a science senior year. However it might be difficult taking 2 sciences in junior year. What would you do if you were in my situation?

EDIT: WOOT! Finally turned golden member!

Go for Chinese

I am in my fourth year of Chinese right now and I'm pretty sure that having 4 years of chinese is what tipped the balance in my favor for my application to Rice.

And its easy. I mean, getting started sucks, but so does any language. Grammatically, its simple. Characters aren't hard to remember once you get used to them, and it sounds really cool when you yell it.

I would cut my throat if I had to go through all that BS again. 😉

Good luck. 🙂

As would I. College is much easier, though sometimes not by much.

o your still in HS, in my HS we couldent really choose they basically did it for us and teh 2 things we coudl choose on we got into anutmatically

now college is a whole diff story, corse selection sucks especially when your a senior and you dont get into 3 classes that you are requires to take so you can graduate

no why?

foreign policy, definitely u've already fulfilled the language requirement, and u can save the 2nd science for ur senior yr (gotta have good 'academic' classes then), plus w/ all that's goin on at the mo the foreign policy class will be interesting/lively
