I have a machine running Win2k3 off an ECS K7S5A (SiS735) chipset mobo with onboard LAN and it can't connect to network.
I plugged the cable into another machine, works fine.
Plug it back into ECS mobo and the computer can detect that a cable is connected, but can't grab a DHCP or ping 192.168.0.1. However it is sending / receiving packets on a 6:1 ratio.
I tried setting IP manually but that didn't help and there's no hardware conflicts in device manager.
Just 2 weeks ago this machine was working fine before I moved it into my parents' place last week.
