*argh* Computer can't get on network.

I have a machine running Win2k3 off an ECS K7S5A (SiS735) chipset mobo with onboard LAN and it can't connect to network.

I plugged the cable into another machine, works fine.

Plug it back into ECS mobo and the computer can detect that a cable is connected, but can't grab a DHCP or ping 192.168.0.1. However it is sending / receiving packets on a 6:1 ratio.

I tried setting IP manually but that didn't help and there's no hardware conflicts in device manager.

Just 2 weeks ago this machine was working fine before I moved it into my parents' place last week.

When you set the static IP and ping the 192.168.0.1 (router?) what result do you recieve? Request timed out or Destination host unreachable.

Also, when you do an ipconfig what are your results?

It's ping timeout.

It's normal, nothing out of the ordinary.

It's either:
DHCP - no
IP - 192.168.0.4
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.0.1

Or it gives me a "Network unreachable"
DHCP - yes
IP - 0.0.0.0
Subnet - 255.255.255.255

And after a minute or two, it switches over to a 169.* IP.
