Everything was running smoothly earlier today, with my Riva TNT card and Detonator 5.32 drivers. But then I had the dumb idea to upgrade to 6.31. Guess what ... it didn't work, I got booted into VGA mode, and now no drivers can be installed. All of them report a "An error occoured. File was not found", and I can't get my 5.32s back.

I've deleted every nv* files on /Winnt/system32 ... and I'm sure I have the correct drivers.

Any help ?

Edit: oh, I got the reference win2k drivers to work (the ones that comes with the OS), but they are very poor for gaming.

Try installing the new beta 6.34,from here also make sure you select the Win2000 & TNT drivers link.

I KNOW YOU PROB BRO!! same thing happenend to me!! Your vid card is sharing an IRQ isn't it? Manipulate your cards & Bios so it is all by its lonely and try again. Problem solved!!!

Mem ... same problem with 6.34. Any driver I choose will bring up this error. I could only get those Win2k Default TNT drivers when I chose to uninstall the device.

fkloster... no IRQ sharing. If you read some threads back, you'll see that I'm the one who posted the solution for IRQ sharing in Win2k. The problem unfortunately isn't here.

I've seen another person with the same problem. He fixed it with a format. Look at his post here.

I'm doing arrangements for a format, but please, if you know a solution, post it here !

I had a problem that sounds a lot like yours....

Uninstall all your current Nvidia drivers
Delete all nv*.* files from windows directory
Delete Nvidia registry entries
Then go to WINDOWS\INF\OTHER and delete the NVIDIANVAGP.INF file located there.
Reboot and it should detect and install default drivers then reboot again.
You should now be able to install drivers.

Hope this helps
