OK so here I am stuck with dailup because Sprint doesn't have DSL support at my house (and sprint sucks anyway, ever compare their DSL prices with like SBC/yahoo or verizon or something?). So I check with time warner to get roadrunner but noooo, its gonna cost $14,000 to run the cable line up the road (there is cable at the end of the road but not where I am). So here I am stuck with dialup which is so stinkin' slow and kicks me off every time somebody calls.
Irritating....... :|

I was in the same boat untill I moved further into the town so I could get 2mb

wireless? nope, not around
satellite? don't have $65+ a month to dish out and besides upload speeds suck - unless you know of one that works well for more like $50 a month

how much is Direct TV? don't they have a package deal for tv/data? i was told as long as you have a clear view of the southern sky you can use their services.

$70/mo+setup, you get good speed, but 1 second pings. And if you do more than 169MB/day you get dropped to around 48kbps for that time period.

My dad has it and loves it, keeps saying I should go in on it. But he'd never get to use the speed if I were on it. And gaming would be better on dialup.

how far is the end of the road?

does the guy at the end of the road have broadband?

maybe you could offer to split monthly costs with him and connect wirelessly to him.

After living in the boonies for years I finally moved somewhere I can get cable.

It is sweet.🙂

ask them if u can plug a router into the box at the end of the road, then just run a really long cat6 cable to your house 🙂

tell them your willing to pay a couple bucks extra for the electricity costs for the plug on the router 🙂
