Ok, I installed a 48X CD-RW into my sister's computer. However, all of the CD writer software on the comp (Sony CD Supressa, Adaptec CD Creator, Ahead Nero) but NONE of them will recognize the CD burner. The computer recognizes it, but the software won't. What should I do, or did I install the drive incorrectly?

Double check to see if there are any patches available for the programs.

How new is this software? i've never even heard of a 48X writer! it's possible at least 1 or 2 of those programs don't support the writer, that is not uncommon at all.. when i got my new 32X i had to upgrade my Nero to the latest version for the drive to work. ahead.de has a list of supported writers, you should look on their site to see whats up.. (Nero is the only one i can give help with cause it's all i use)

I have had a 48x writer for almost 2 months now. Get the newest update from Nero and you should be fine.

The burner is so new that the bundled software does not have it in its internal listing of CDRW drives. Go to the web site of the software vendor and download an update and to see if they support it yet.

hope that helps.
