Ok guys,

The fan that comes on the Chipset, is making nasty noises...

I opened the case up, unscrewed the fan, and reinserted it... start working fine (no noise). btw, there were NO wires touching it.

Anyways, 10 minutes later, same noise. I dont have Asus PC Probe installed, but tried downloading it from the asus site... with no luck. (link)

[Edit] Btw, just checked up on that file... its not on there servers :| [/Edit]

Anyways, Do normal hardware stores sell this kind of fan? and Is it a MUST to keep this fan running? (This computer is not used for any intense work, since it is an office machine)

Thanks

Does the noise go away? My fan was making some pretty weird noises like that, but I just let it run and the noise would die out. It doesn't do that anymore though. Try letting it run if you haven't already done so. If it goes away then you're fine. If it doesn't go away then that can be hella annoying. Get a BLORB if it doesn't go away!

For now, the noise seems to be following a pattern... 🙁

gonna open it up soon and try gettin it normal again

Okay, just installed PC Probe v. 2.127

It is saying that the 'Power Fan' is at 0 RPM's... (and I just opened my pc... gave the chipset fan a litle nudge with the back of my small screwdriver... seems to be fine for now.

What is the Power Fan?? (btw, the PSU fan is operating fine)

Thanks

lol, the mobo I got from Kreuger did that, sounded like a jet taking off when I turned it on. Couple blasts of compressed air and it stopped. Is that fan necessary? My Abit had the same problem, then one day it just died. The Iwills I have don't even have fans on the chipset ???

You might try peeling up the sticker in the middle of the fan and putting a drop of oil on the shaft. Put the sticker back, and the noise should stop.
