I woke up this morning with a stiff neck hoping that it'd loosen up. But now I still can't turn my head more than 30 degrees (and it hurts at even that).

Anyone have any ideas that might help? (and no, I am not going to cut my head off)

Get a sports rub (Heat, Ben-gay, etc.) and get someone to work it into your neck.

You must of slept in a bad position. That happens to me too. Only thing is take some pain reliever and it will go away in a week. Or, if you can get your hands on some prescription drugs, get some good muscle reliever.

Yeah you slept funny.

Robaxicet or Robaxisol (I think that is how you spell them) can be bought over the counter and are terrific for muscle pain. One has codeine so depending on your pain, you may or may not want it! Just ask the pharmacist, they are usually pretty good. :)

My neck has hurt to. Just don't overuse it (does that make any sense) for the next couple of days, and definetly pay attention to how you fall asleep. Hope you feel better.

Happened to me three weeks ago. Turned out I had MONO (the stiff neck was due to swollen glands).

Also, the doctor prescribed 4 advil every 8 hours, taken with food, to reduce the neck stiffness. Worked like a charm.
