arg! someone recomend a good universal remote!

I just bought my 4th universal remote today. I can't find one that will work with all of my appliances.

I'm down to two remotes, so that's something (as opposed to the five that I started with). My big hurdle is my Toshiba Tivo/DVD player. the most recent remote has partial Tivo functionality (can't change channels except for by manually entering in the channel #, and button that brings up "Tivo Central" doesn't work). No functionality whatso ever on the DVD side of it.

anyone familiar with any *good* universal remote controls? spending +$100 isn't out of the question, if it has exceptional compatibility.

devices that I need to control:
-Toshiba TV/VCR
-Sony TV (x2)
-Toshiba Tivo/DVD
-Motorola Digital Cable box
-Phillips stereo

really, the tivo/dvd player + the stereo are the deal breakers. I'm tossing the cable box in a few weeks, and probably upgrading the TV/VCR to a bigger/non-combo tv.

I'll second this. There is nothing I have come accross that this controller cannot learn.

I have one and the only complaint I have about it is that it's just too BIG. You will either have to use two hands or set it on something to use the buttons on the LCD screen. Being big isn't all bad. You can use it while it's sitting on the arm of the couch, and it can never hide from you for long.

Exactly why I didn't get a touch screen remote.

I don;t have any real problem using it with one hand. You just need to learn how. 🙂

I have the MX700 and its awesome though a bit pricey. The MX500 is almost as good, just a bit more difficult to program, but I'd say its the best choice overall.
