I haven't made any hardware changes to my computer in over a year! Yet every time I reboot my system, iTunes seems to want me to reauthorize. It's not a huge deal since I just have to enter my account password, but it is still a PITA.

Any solution? I'm using the latest iTunes 6, but this has been going on since iTunes 4.9!

tami - Authorization to play DRM'd files purchased from iTunes. Most of my stuff is MP3 and doesn't cause a problem.

I'd say check to make sure you haven't used all 5 authorizations on the same computer, that could be why it's asking every time.

Wow, made a new name just for this? Or just thought one day was enough for your first ban.

I have 2 computers with iTunes tracks on them, and when I reauthorize this one, iTunes says I have 2 out of 5 authorized.

It's as if my iTunes got deauthorized automatically on this system every time I reboot.

I'm not sure then. Windows does have a DRM system built into it, perhaps it's conflicting with iTunes somehow? Check your services to see if it's running or not, and try switching it. All else fails, email iTunes support and complain, it is a pay-for service so they should be able to help you quickly.

I already use ephpod to transfer files off the iPod, but I want to use iTunes to buy music.

I've tried reinstalling iTunes with no sucess. It keeps asking me to re-authorize the computer ever time I reboot. This is really annoying.
