Elitist is teh word most ATOTers use. 😉 😛

QFT, though. But again it is compensation for anti-social behavior to brag about stuff.

do you work as a contractor? or something where you use those tools everyday?

if not then does it really matter?

The Dewalt story is a rather interesting one. You know that Dewalt == Black and Decker, right?

B&D realized that its tools had a poor reputation and were considered crappy and "not manly." So their marketing department came up with a plan to create a new line (based on the same tools, with some mods) with a new advertising campaign and coloring scheme (construction-yellow and grey.)

*poof* Now everyone thinks Dewalt tools are industrial grade, unbreakable hardware, when they are basically the same B&D tools your wife and mother would buy to make a picture frame. 😀

He's right about Craftsman, at least. I don't see what the big deal is.

the thing with craftsman are you can return them for any reason and get a new set. I used to get them at garage sales and trade them in.

I know. I'd rather just get the good tools and not have to return them at all.

my grandpa did that all the time

no matter how rusted or unworkable they were

then he'd go in and get brand new shiny ones 😀

Lifetime replacement warranty.

edit: Yeah, I was a bit late.

When I said "I don't see what the big deal is." I was referring to the OP's dislike for this guy. It sounds like the guy just has a strong opinion and told the OP. The OP sounds like the uptight one to me.
