Dealing with financial aid office/forms is absolutely horrible.
I have given them every piece of information possible - they keep needing more and more...
for some reason they can't say we need:
parents tax form
students tax form
if you or your parents make less than X then so and so form
if you or your parents didn't work you need so and so form.
Instead they need:
my parents tax return. Give them that -
now it's MY tax return (which imo is odd since I though financial aid was based solely on your parents and expected family income?) THEN
since my mom was going through breast cancer and didn't need to file (or something, even she's not sure, going off of what the local tax filing place told her) then some OTHER form
Every time it's an ASAP omfg we need it RIGHT NOW kind of thing -
so FINALLY I thought I was done right? wrong. They need my step fathers tax return.
WTF - I don't have a stepfather!! (when asked how my mother was supported in 2005 I had to fill out a form that basically states she lived with her boyfriend and was supported by him, and the family in general due to chemo and radiation treatments she couldn't work)
The main issue is that my mother doesn't work AND doesn't receive state aid. This, apparently in today's loser society, is UNHEARD of. The financial aid people are like that makes no sense - - wtf... this would be easier if she was getting state aid. bleh.
