I'm a math major taking my capstone class - the History of Modern Math. Basically all the things we take for granted nowadays, quadratic equation, solutions to cubics, set theory, Taylor Expansions, we're learning how it all came about. I hadn't heard anything from other math majors at my school about the capstone, but assumed that with 5 hours of class each week, I'd put in at least that much time at home.
So far, 10 credit/no credit assignments, 2 100 point assignments, a midterm and a 16 page paper, and I've probably put in about 2 hours a week in this class. And have a solid A.
Maybe it's just cause it's a summer course, but I was always under the impression that capstones were more difficult - the "culmination" of your degree.
Anyone else have easy as pie capstones?
