Aren't Capstones suppose to be difficult?

I'm a math major taking my capstone class - the History of Modern Math. Basically all the things we take for granted nowadays, quadratic equation, solutions to cubics, set theory, Taylor Expansions, we're learning how it all came about. I hadn't heard anything from other math majors at my school about the capstone, but assumed that with 5 hours of class each week, I'd put in at least that much time at home.

So far, 10 credit/no credit assignments, 2 100 point assignments, a midterm and a 16 page paper, and I've probably put in about 2 hours a week in this class. And have a solid A.

Maybe it's just cause it's a summer course, but I was always under the impression that capstones were more difficult - the "culmination" of your degree.

Anyone else have easy as pie capstones?

I just finished a 3-week capstone course for my MBA last Friday. I don't think it was the most difficult class I've ever had, but it was definitely up there. We met for 3 hours each day M-F for class, had to work about 2 hours each day in our group and do an additional 1-2 hours of personal work. All total, I probably averaged 6 to 6 1/2 hours every day between class and homework. Just to clear things up, each day was like an entire week of class, since we only had 14 days in class.

In my CS capstone project they had us create an open-source software that the university was too cheap to pay for. It was easy though, and I think you even got an B as long as you had a pulse.

I'd say that mine involved a heavy amount of research, and giving two 2-3hr lectures/presentation (as a small group) could be considered difficult but I liked it.
