Are they all in a big folder or do you have them categorized into subfolders? And what subfolders (if applicable) do you use????

I find it pointless to categorize them by artist and album.. that'd be TOO MUCH effort and pointless (my friend does that)

I have only 3 folders:

Aural Pleasure (all)
-> Mainstream
(your usual pop, rap, r&b, etc...)
-> Trance (general electronica.. from oakenfold to moby)
-> Praise (christian)

Serves me well

[edit]
However, I Am anal about how playlist appears on winamp.. i make sure it looks nice and neat by artists and name.. with proper case, etc..

88 GB here, I'm gonna have to get another 120 GB HDD by the end of october if I continue on the rate I've been on lately.

Problem with my mp3's are that I have them in three different folders... I'm just too lazy to fix it up so I never have.

Hard drive space has been my primary limitation! I have a 40GB hard drive for MP3s, but then I have a bunch of CD-Rs.

MP3s on CDs is quite annoying! :(

things that i DL'd from somewhere and sounded alright are in mpeg\
things i DL'd that theres nothing wrong with the track but are just sorta odd in content (weird remixes, some bentframe stuff, etc, some humor tracks) are in mpeg\weird stuff

All in one big folder here.
I tried categorizing them a while ago, but didn't like it.

Huge folders are the way forward ;)

I have 3081 mp3s and i think that maybe i need some organization. One folder is too much for me.

Organized into folders by artist and album:

D:\Music\Artist\Album\Artist - Album - Track # - Title.mp3

My organization is the following:
Artist\Album\Track#-Track Name
Various Artists\Album\Track#-Track Name (for soundtracks and compilations)

EAC does this automatically for me when I rip them.
I then use this patten to fill in the ID3 tags with Tag and Rename. Reason is because I use Razor Lame so I can't directly put the tags in.

Works great.

I also use other collection programs like Mp3 Collectorz to give me ready access to Genre playlists and the sort.

I have folders for Artist/Band where I have entire albums or a lot of tracks.
The rest I put in a MISC folder.
