Tonight I had plans with a couple friends to go see Maria Bamford in OKC. Both canceled a few hours before, and I didn't feel like driving 2 hours to see a show by myself. This happens all the time. My brothers are particularly bad about it. Last summer, we were all going to road trip to Montana for a family reunion, and last minute both canceled because they didn't "feel like it", and again, I didn't want to spend the money or time to go by myself. Are your friends unreliable like mine or do I just have shitty friends?

Edit: The 25% of the time they actually follow through with plans, they are a minimum of 30 minutes late

Yes, almost totally. That's why they're my friends.

Mostly unreliable, the few that I have. I can't be spontaneous, budget concerns, and have to plan things out.

Who? even after I googled her, I still don't know who she is. I think your friends did you a favor. The couple of clips I watched on youtube weren't funny at all.

I wouldn't put up with "friends" who were unreliable. If I can't count on you, I don't count you as a friend.

You're in the twilight of your years old man, the semblance of a sense of humor left your shores long ago. Better stick to Jackie Gleason and Red Skelton for your chuckles

Yea that happens pretty often in my circle. Though I'll do the same thing on occasion, but I at least have the decency to give like a 24-hour heads up on my cancellation. They, on the other hand, cancel by not answering their phones when I'm ready to go. Buncha dick-weeds I tell ya.

Some of them were funny, but I had to fight the urge to track her down and punch her in the face in hopes that would knock loose whatever the fuck is stuck in her nasal passages.

It's sort of scary to me that if your brothers didn't show up for a family reunion, you'd be alone.

Mostly yes. On bigger stuff at least. On small stuff it can be a crap shoot. Some times I'll need to get a hold of one for something of at least some degree of importance and I swear, it is like they know and never pick up their fucking phones. In those situations it is beyond irritating. In the end it doesn't matter too much I suppose since I don't count on anyone but myself for something in the end.

I would not say that my friends are unreliable - they are probably better than most. However, I am a million times more reliable than anyone I know, so it is hard to live up to my standards ;)

I've been friends with my core group of friends since we were 13 (I'm 30 at present)... I can't think of a single instance where they've bailed on me at the last minute.

I do have one friend who's notoriously late to everything, but I know and expect it of him. he knows that we won't wait around for him, but he's welcome to join at any time :)

All of my friends are chicks. They're flakes by definition.

The trick is to know which ones are going to flake on you ahead of time... and to call them out on it when they do flake out.
