Yes, Nevada Gaming Control does a FBI background check before they issue you a gaming card.

yes. SEC regulates the financial industry so each time you get employed by one, they take your prints.

when i was a kid. i remember getting fingerprinted at an airforce base. the only reason i remember that is, the fingerprinting table was by the arcade at the BX and I wanted to play them.

Yep.... was required to have my fingerprints taken in kindergarden.
Then had them taken when I started working for a school system (and no, it wasn't because of post-9/11... they had been taking fingerprints for years before that).
