I had heard Palm Pilot's worked strange sometimes when using rechargeable batteries. I had seen some programs that were supposed to recalibrate it to use them. I was looking around a battery site and came across this.
<< To set up the Palm IIIxe to use NIMH batteries properly go to memo pad, new memo, make a shortcut stroke (cursive lowercase L), then tap period (.) then enter 7, do this twice and you'll see [NiMH] pop up. Now you can delete the note, and power cycle the palm. >>
I have never seen this before. Though I have a Palm IIIc and not a IIIxe I decided to try it anyway. When I did it, [LiIon 1400] came up. I thought that was quite cool. Hope this helps some people. 🙂
