I just watched a show on the BBC
24 selected civilians are offered a chance to experience the training the SAS have to do.
They are in Borneo and have to do the jungle training the SAS does. They are split in 6 teams of 4 plus a real SAS guy in each group to make sure they don't get lost and they have to do these jungle patrols with a heavy backpack. They even get a real assault rifle (Colt commando) to make it realistic
it's really heavy stuff -- after 3 days already 10 had to stop because of medical conditions
The real SAS guys are really incredible tough
(note: the civilians are all triathletes, marathon runners, ....)
