Negative; for the crap I've gone through with Fedex and UPS they should tip me for still using them.

They get paid so they do not need tips.
Waiters already get paid. So why do we have to tip them?
Would you like to struggle through life with a wage of $3/hr?

Where do they have minimun wage of 3/hr?

Waiters can be paid less than minimum wage as long as their after-tips income is greater than minimum wage.

The wages in Texas for waiters was $2.13 an hour. Since I made roughly $15/hr in tips on average as a waiter at an italian restaurant, the wages covered the taxes on the tips just about evenly....

So, in effect, waiters have no wages. It all goes to taxes, and usually so do some of your tips.

For what UPS drivers make, hell no.

However, one of the businesses I work at gets about 400 pounds of freight in on an average week throguh UPS. I am sure the guy HATES my boss as it is all delivered to his house.

and conversely, if their tips + wage do not equal min. wage, the employer must make up the difference. So in reality, they are no different than the kid at the mcdonalds, they just put a merrier smile on their face and get dissapointed when someone doesn't put up with their sh*t and does not leave the 20% tip they expect to get.

Personally, it depends on the size of the package that's being delivered. I'm in the same camp as HappyPuppy, I always offer my regular delivery people a beverage

same...sort of. I give the mail lady a diet coke almost everyday, i get a lot of boxed stuff from usps..so she has to come to the front door alot. Same mail lady for a couple years now, but i would never want to "chill" with her ;)

I don't because it just doesn't seem proper.

But I sorta feel sorry for them UPS workers........they work their ASSES off.

But they do make a reasonably good living....so I don't feel to guilty not tipping them.
