WTF? Dont forget to tip the mailman for bringing your mail to you also.

Why would you tip someone for doing their job? I'm sure the guy gets paid well above minimum wage...

yes. I knew they would come. ;)

However, I've never worked on laptops and dell's csr required the part (speaker) to be dispatched to a mechanic in the area.

And the garbageman, don't forget him. But why stop there? I tip my doctor and optometrist as well. Wouldn't want them to feel underpaid, after all.

As a tech, I never knew that my customers should have been tipping me all this time!! I feel like I've been getting screwed for the past 10 years! grrr....

:p

it seems the consensus is that tipping in this case is unnecessary. I should have expected so, I did pay for the complete care package anyhow-- and it was costly.

No way. You've paid for the warranty service, it's Dell's job to pay the man.

Off topic, but, we had a Dell guy come to our office to fix a laptop that HAD to be fixed by a Dell rep for warranty. He was wearing shorts, t-shirt, sandals and looked like he just got out of bed. Very professional.

Of course you should... Right before he leaves, say "You shouldn't run with scissors in your pocket"
