Nothing cheap about that. I'll go to whichever bank will do best by me.

Most banks don't give you free checks except when you open an account. So that's what I meant.

I use checks to pay rent. I've been using the ones you just fill out from the bank these past two months. :awe:

I can't even remember the last time I wrote a check. It's entirely unnecessary.

If your bank dont give you free checks, atleast one box a year, you should probably change your bank anyways...

Taxes that you mail in.
Deposit on house/apt(and first month of rent)
Contractors that work on your house
Charitable Contributions
Voided check to set-up direct deposit at work
Payment to my auto repair guy(saves him the cc fee)
Whole bunch of other things I can't remember off-hand

Not often but still needed

Now that I think about it, I don't have a way to write physical checks. My ING account is paperless (I can do electric checks...) and I have a B&M account with no money in it.

Man, if I needed to write a physical check, I'd be screwed....

My bank has always given me free checks, so I guess I don't know. I think the last time I asked for a new book was 2005 or something, though.

In this day and age, if you need to write a check, you're borderline retarded.

You can write a check electronically, and the bank will send whoever you owes money, a check. Let me guess, you'll grow up to be that old retard that holds everyone up at the supermarket checkout counter, writing a check.

You call others retarded yet you're too retarded to read the many exampled posted why it's still needed.

ALL the examples that someone posted, can be taken care off with a few checks (so there are no need to keep writing checks). Some of the ones mentioned can even be sent an electronic check, but people are too retarded to figure that out.

You'll have to be really retarded, to keep writing checks. So, you're a check writer I take it?

Oh, wait, now that I read up, you still write checks. Got it.

Tomorrow morning, after you have had a good night sleep, call your bank and ask about "Online bill pay". Don't need to thank me.

The ONLY time I had to give a check within the last decade was for deposit when I moved to a new place, and it was a cashier's check. I didn't write it.

So, strike one more for the retards.

You still live with your parents?

Plumber comes to the house, he wants to be paid once services are rendered, how do you pay him?

You place an offer on a house you just saw, how do you add a deposit to the offer?

You owe the state money doing your taxes. Pay $25 to file/pay electronically or print the return out and include a check?

When you grow-up, you'll realize there are times that checks are convenient to have on hand.

I haven't lived with my parents since I turned 18, and that's... a long time ago.

Sorry, but piss poor planning is not something that I do.

Plumbers? I heard they love cash.

I'm not rich enough to buy a house around the areas I want, despite the "6 figures" income, so I'm not depositing anything. But from what I've seen, escrows can take care of that, right?

Anything else?
