Cedar Point amusement park/resort stuns thrill-seekers in 2003 with the debut of the park's unprecedented 16th, yes, 16th roller coaster - Top Thrill Dragster. Reaching a stratospheric 420 feet tall and topping out at an unheard of speed of 120 mph, this new steel screamer helped Cedar Point reclaim the title of owning the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the universe.

Riders begin their epic journey aboard this whopping 42-story screamer by securing themselves into ultra-cool trains that resemble top fuel dragsters. The train then moves into a "starting line" position, where it launches forward, reaching speeds of 120 mph in approximately four seconds.

But hold on ? this isn't your father's roller coaster. The train then zooms straight up the 420-foot-tall hill on track that rotates 90 degrees, crests the coaster's apex and then free-falls back to Earth, reaching a speed of 120 mph for the second time. As the train races more than 400 feet to the ground, the track twists an unbelievable 270 degrees - what a rush! Riders then return to the station to begin regaling their friends with stories of the greatest ride of their lives.

:Q I don't know if I'd hurl, PIMP or a combination of both. Imagine sitting in the first car on this one? :Q /heads explodes

Well I'm not really so much scared of them, I don't fear them attacking me or my town or anything.

Now, am I afraid of riding them? Actually, yes a little. But not really the fear of riding as I am afraid that the engineers who won the lowest bid competition to design it may not have done something right, or the builders who also lowbid to build it may have skimped on certain parts, etc.

Still, at big amusment parks with decent revenue I'll ride them, at least my family will be well covered if something goes wrong.

---

Was at seaworld orlando and worst thing that happend on that on was someone spewed on the ride before us so we had to wait while hazmat crew cleaned it up.

I'm usually intimidated when I get on them, but when I get off, I leave with a, "is that all you got?" feeling.

For those of you fearless... where it's posted: Do you keep your arms and legs inside the cart at all times?

Of course not. but we don't have those mega roller coasters, just smaller ones...and they're not too scary.

I'm so scared of rollercoaster
But my wife love it.
Once we went to Six Flags in Valencia and ride Goliath, I scream louder than little girl who sat behind me.
That whole day is a nightmare. But I probably will go again cos my wife love it so much (shudder).

Rumor is that it might be shut down for the rest of the year. The ride has been closed more than it has been open from what I have heard, and if they can't get it functioning by mid July, they will just shut down the ride.

BTW, Six Flags blows. All of them are a piece of crap.

I used to be scared of them. Then I started enjoying them. Now, years later, I don't bother, because I don't get a thrill from them anymore. They don't do anything for me except make me hurl.

A friend of mine took leave to visit Ceadr Point to ride Top Thrill in particular. He is so pissed that it is closed for mechanical problems. From what they said, the first week it was open it lost a wheel :Q

Not a total loss thought, Millenium Force is not too shabby ;)
