i work at a law firm, all we've done is make change SSID from default, set it to no broadcast, and set up MAC address authentication

we tried WPA with PEAP but with the plethora of old and new cards mixed in with people's laptops / PDA's it was so secure it was keeping out the people we were trying to get access to

if someone comes in from outside the office and needs access, I just plug this into an ethernet cable in the conference room they are working in then unplug it when they are done. That little thing is awesome.

Not to scare anybody, but anybody with basic hacking skill won't be detected and you'll never know they were there. That's what makes network security so difficutly, there is so much data flowing that it takes mucho intelligence to decipher it - and not only that you have to actually be in the path of the data.

Change your SSID to something different like michaels.century.celebrityatsea.com. Use WPA with a unique shared secret OR you can use RADIUS authentication if you have a RADIUS (livingston if you're a linux person or IAS if Winders) server. It helps. There's a lot of leaching bitches out there.
