Time to add LGBTQ status and pregnancy as protected classes to the Civil Rights Act. That would still allow legitimate "religious views" accommodations in limited circumstances (e.g. for whom could be ordained as a priest or equivalent in your religion if you only want guys, non-gays, etc.) but otherwise ends all this nonsense like this. Time to stop relying on courts to do the dirty work in fixing things after the fact when Congress should have codified this long ago.

Yeah, there isn't exactly a groundswell public of support to allow this kind of discrimination either. Just add to Title VII and be done with it.

I cannot overstate how much of a huge fuckup this is. Key southern states like TX, GA, and AZ are teetering on purpleness due to suburbia flipping as the GOP abandons them for the hard right rural vote.

Likely and rightfully so.
That being said. I hope it's drawn out for about another 9-15 months. I like this shitty exposure for the GOP during election cycle.

The way government contracting works with primes and subs, it would be company suicide to take advantage of this policy. Primes would dump subs and subs dump primes at the slightest whiff of bad press or controversy. Big business doesn't have time for this kind of bullshit.

I doubt that Corporations are even concerned at all about the private lives of their employees anyway.
