no

however, they usually don't understand how to use the auto-focus feature on my canon a20. i tell them "push the button halfway down and wait for the little green light then push it the rest of the way down to take the picture". this results in blurry pictures usually.

You get paranoid when you first get your camera. After few dinks here and there, you won't care as much.

I think it all depends on the camera and the person. My sister's bf has a canon s400? small black 5mp? around $5-600? and he lets his 3 year old nephew use it.

On the other hand I have a canon 10d and that thing is expensive and heavy...Plus the cost of the lens is worth more than most digital cameras alone... hence the paranoia when others use mine :p

If they use it while I am present, I am usually more relaxed.

However if I let someone borrow my digicam, yes I am paranoid.

The only part I am paranoid about is that they will take a picture of their unmentionables and I wont find it until later.

I thought you meant something else by the topic. Something like, oh, maybe forgetting to download that embarrassing/compromising pic of yourself in various states of undress surrounded by small, woodland creatures.

Yes. And I hate it when people press to hard on the buttons...especially on cd players and game controllers!

If you have to worry about someone dropping it, don't let them use it.
If you cannot trust people with your stuff don't lend it out.

Nope...I love when other people use my camera. I'm usually too busy/lazy to take pictures..so it's nice when other people do.

In fact, yesterday, my friend was playing w/ my camera and started taking random pictures of me driving and of himself making weird faces..and random buildings on the road. Hehe...
